Anxiety
Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as worry or fear that can be mild or severe. Most of us experience anxiety at some point in our life such as doing a presentation in work, college or school, having a medical procedure, a fight with friends or a job interview. When we experience anxiety in these situations it can be completely normal, and we can go about our day as soon as it passes. However, some people find it difficult to control their worries and concerns which can then impact how they function in their daily lives. Anxiety can present itself in various ways such as overthinking, avoidance, stomach pains, trouble breathing, increased heart rate, worry, procrastination to name but a few. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that is proven to treat anxiety disorders. CBT aims to stop the negative thoughts that can make you feel bad, anxious or scared by breaking them down. By making your problems more manageable, CBT can help you change your negative thought patterns and improve the way you feel. Some ways to help manage stress & anxiety in your daily life are to try implement the following factors into your daily routine:
